The appearance of the skin of the hands is a sure give away of one’s age. Due to ageing and sun exposure blemishes develop, solar keratoses appear and the skin becomes either rough and thickened or thin and fragile. The veins on the hands become prominent and a degree of wasting is noticeable. Treatment consists of reducing the blemishes with either laser or chemical peels. Hydration and volume loss improve when hyaluronic acid, the main substance in the dermal fillers, is placed in the dorsum of the hands and result in a rejuvenated appearance. Special care should also be given to the nails, heels and skin of the feet.
